How do I send and receive crypto?

To receive, you share your address (often as a QR code). To send, you enter the recipient's address, choose the correct network, verify carefully, and authorize the transaction with your key.

Receiving

Copy your receiving address or show its QR code. Confirm the asset and network match what the sender will use.

Sending

  • Paste the recipient's address — never retype it by hand.
  • Confirm the network matches the recipient's.
  • Check the first and last characters against the source.
  • Send a small test amount first for anything significant.
  • Authorize and wait for confirmations.
Why it matters

Sending and receiving is where most real-world losses happen. A few habits — paste, verify, test — prevent the expensive ones.

A practical way to picture it

Treat it like wiring money internationally: the account number and the correct 'rails' both have to be exactly right, and once it's sent, it's gone.

Risks & common mistakes
  • Wrong address = likely permanent loss.
  • Wrong network = funds may be unreachable.
  • Clipboard malware can swap a pasted address — always verify characters.
