Steady first

If you think you have been scammed

  1. Do not send any more money — not fees, not "unlock" payments, not verification deposits. Legitimate processes never require them.
  2. Do not trust recovery services. Anyone who contacts you promising to retrieve lost crypto is almost certainly running the second stage of the same scam.
  3. Preserve evidence. Screenshots, addresses, transaction IDs, usernames, URLs — keep everything, edit nothing.
  4. Report it. In the U.S., file with the FBI at IC3.gov and the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
  5. Then reduce remaining exposure: review token approvals, move assets away from any compromised keys, and secure connected accounts and email.
